hCG
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is HCG and
how does it work?
HCG is a hormone naturally produced in the body. It has many
functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions.
It is the pregnancy hormone, but during pregnancy the levels
double every two days. This hormone allows the body to mobilize
fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus. This acts
as a "fail-safe" mechanism when energy is needed
immediately. For weight loss, we use only a very small amount
of HCG to capitalize on this same mechanism. Using HCG in
this way does not mimic pregnancy; in fact, it can be safely
used by both men and women.
2. Is HCG safe?
HCG is generally considered safe but not without some possible side effects. The HCG side effects one will have to keep an eye out for include the onset of headaches, irritability, restlessness, slight water retention, tenderness of breast tissue, swelling of the injection sight, and depression. There are some rare, severe side effects as well which include the development of ovarian hyperstimulation in females. The latter condition requires immediate medical treatment and is accompanied by the following symptoms: tremendous pain in the region of the pelvis, the swelling of feet, legs, and hands, abdominal pain, abdominal swelling, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, a diminishing of urination, and weight gain. If a user of HCG products notes any side effects it is recommended that he or she cease using the products immediately and that he or she seek out the assistance of a physician.
3. Should I be concerned about
purchasing and injecting hCG manufactured in China or India?
Some people are purchasing HCG from internet pharmacies illegally
with out a prescription. The hCG they are purchasing through
these pharmacies is usually coming from China and or India.
Though the hCG from China and or India is very cheap this
hCG could at best be inferior and at worst contaminated. The
hCG they are injecting might be working but at what cost to
their health. Note the following warning more...
4. The HCG diet is very low calorie,
will I get hungry?
With the “original” HCG diet with its extreme calorie and protein restriction this was common. At our weight loss clinic the amount of calories is customized for you to reduce or eliminate this and other problems associated with the original HCG diet.
5. Will I experience any changes in
my menstrual cycle taking HCG?
Because the amount of HCG is so small, there are no changes
to your menstrual cycle. Likewise, HCG will not affect your
ability to become pregnant, nor will it increase your chances
of getting pregnant.
6. How much weight can I expect to
lose on the program?
On average, our patients lose around 20 lbs* per month. Often,
people lose 10 to 14 lbs* in the first week.
7. Does the weight loss slow down
after the first month?
Many times what we see is a large amount of weight loss in
the first month, then a plateau or leveling off. This does
not mean that your weight loss has stopped. Typically, inches
are being lost continuously while on the program, and after
a period of time, patients will experience another large drop
on the scale. Weight loss is thus achieved in this stair-step
fashion.
8. If I live out side the Seattle,
Tacoma, Bellevue area such as in Eastern Washington, Richland,
Spokane, Pasco or Vancouver, WA, can I still order the HCG
SlimAgain program?
Yes
9. What works better
the oral (sublingual hCG) or the injectable?
Our patients report very little or any difference. Because
of the amount of sublingual that is taken it does cost a little
more than the injectable hCG.
10. Which is better the once a week hCG injections
you get at the clinic or the self administrated ones done
at home?
Both work equally well. It’s just a matter of choice
and or convenience. |
